SIIA and SIEDC Sign MOU to Strengthen Staten Island’s Industrial Future

The Staten Island Industrial Alliance (SIIA) and the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)—solidifying a strategic partnership to advance industrial development and sustainable infrastructure across Staten Island.

A Shared Vision for Staten Island

This collaboration brings together two organizations committed to ensuring Staten Island’s industrial sector has a clear, unified voice—and the tools to succeed. By aligning SIIA’s expertise in sustainability compliance and workforce development with SIEDC’s leadership in business attraction, investment strategy, and infrastructure planning, the MOU establishes a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

“This partnership is about putting Staten Island businesses at the front of the line,” said Nadia Adam, Executive Director of SIIA.
“We’re focused on making sure local companies are not only seen, but selected—ready to meet project demands, navigate compliance, and deliver real value.”

Michael Cusick, President & CEO of SIEDC, added:

“SIEDC’s over 30-year history of supporting industrial development, business attraction, and innovative research, along with SIIA’s industry expertise, will uniquely position Staten Island to lead in sustainable infrastructure.”

Highlights of the MOU

This agreement outlines key areas of alignment, including:

  • Helping Staten Island businesses navigate new sustainability and regulatory standards

  • Coordinating on investment strategies and infrastructure priorities

  • Creating clearer pathways into high-growth sectors such as renewable energy, transportation, and clean construction

The Summit will be formally announced at the SIEDC 26th Annual Business Conference on April 30, during a public press conference at the Hilton Garden Inn Staten Island.
