Of the approximately 350 contracts awarded, only about 11% have been awarded to companies in New York State. By comparison, companies based in Texas or Europe have received more than a combined 25% of the awarded contracts for New York offshore wind projects. By uniting together and advocating for the work that industries in Staten Island are capable of, we can help create a shift in the next round of contracts, emphasizing Staten Island's capable industrial sector, and creating opportunities for Staten Island businesses to receive the benefits that come along with being awarded these lucrative contracts.
